All are invited to attend Ars Musica Chorale’s upcoming performance of “Darkness into Light” on Sunday, March 15 at 5:00 pm! Performance will be held in the beautiful acoustic and architecture of the 1,200-seat St. John the Baptist Church, located at 69 Valley Street in Hillsdale NJ. Under the direction of Maestro Dusty Francis, Ars Musica includes professional singers and dedicated amateurs. Joining them for this concert will be Encore Young Artists and Joshua Groffman, Composer-in-Residence. The evening’s performance will adhere to the highest standards, as talented musicians uphold the heritage of greatness and beauty in choral music. “Darkness into Light” brings together two major works and a stunning new piece by Joshua Groffman to the audience. While the Russian Army was besieging Nazi-occupied Budapest, Zoltán Kodály was forced to hide in the darkness of a cellar for safety, where his luminous Missa Brevis took shape. Leonard Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms both soothes and excites the spirit with its tranquil setting of the 23rd psalm in clear, youthful tones set against complex choral rhythms as only Bernstein could so masterfully write. There will also be a pre-concert talk with composer Joshua Groffman beginning at 4:00 pm. Tickets for “Darkness into Light” will be offered at the special rate of $10 per person and will be available for purchase at the door. Children 12 and under admitted free. For more information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 551-226-9305
Leave your worries on the doorstep and join Christine Lavin and Don White as they present a night of comedy unlike any other: "On The Funny Side of the Street: A Night of Brighter Laughter." Tickets $25
